Dale W. Simpson

Dale W. Simpson was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He retired after 35 years of teaching in the Department of English and Philosophy at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri, chairing the department for thirteen years. He specialized in Medieval English literature and English linguistics, and also helped prepare secondary English teachers. His passion was teaching courses in the works of J.R.R. Tolkien.

After retirement and forty-five years away from his hometown, Simpson returned to St. Louis, where he lives with his wife Leslie and enjoys being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
