David Lapakko

I'm a semi-retired college professor in the field of communication studies. I've written an argumentation/critical thinking textbook that's in use at about 20 colleges and universities. I've been a finalist four times in the Great American Think-Off, an annual philosophical essay competition which includes oral debates; I was the grand champion of that event in 2015. I've been married for 43 years, with two kids and four grandkids. Besides writing, my avocations involve photography, going to house concerts, travel, and barbershop quartet singing. We live in a suburb of Minneapolis adjacent to a 150-acre nature center.
