Kate Winn

After retiring, Kate (Kay) moved to southern Maryland and lives on a cliff above the Chesapeake Bay. She feels fortunate to wake up and watch the sun rise, as eagles and osprey soar overhead. The views of the water are a favorite when family and friends visit. Summers are spent on the deck overlooking the Bay enjoying cool summer breezes. Of course, no one can visit Maryland and not eat crabs or oysters. Preparing them fresh from the Bay takes time, but it’s well worth the effort. When she isn’t enjoying the life on the Bay, Kate can be found jogging along the steep surrounding hills or tending to her garden. Weather permitting, she also enjoys kayaking. ​Not to be forgotten, Kate gets satisfaction from volunteering at food banks, women’s shelters, and for Meals on Wheels.
