Rev. James Campbell

Rev. James O. Campbell served in the Army, Army National Guard, and Air National Guard as an Enlisted service member and an Officer after graduating from the Academy of Military Science. Additionally, he served with a deployable disaster response team with the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

James began receiving his calling to ministry at a very young age and throughout his years of service in the military. He finally answered the call in 2020 and received his Ordination and Community Chaplaincy Licensing through the National Association of Christian Ministers and additional licensing and training through Serve Ministries, Inc., focusing on First Responders and Veterans.

He continued his education and training as a member of the International Conference of Police Chaplains and the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Chaplains Association. He served as a Chaplain and Reentry Services Coordinator with Safer Communities Ministry with the Anson and Union County Jails for over 2 years.

He also volunteers as a Chaplain for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department - South Division and Special Operations, Stallings Police Department, is a Union County Critical Incident Support Management team member, and serves as a Post Chaplain for the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Indian Trail. He was awarded the State of North Carolina Veterans of Foreign Wars Chaplain of the Year (2024-2025). He completed Suicide P.A.I.R. training and received his certification from Light University. He obtained a B.S. in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Cold War History from Excelsior University and an M.A. in Pastoral Counseling with a cognit in Community Chaplaincy from Liberty University.

James abides by his Christian faith, favorite scripture, and two mottos:

“Now the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, ‘Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent; for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city.’” Acts 18:9-10 (NKJV)
