Jacob Riley – Artist Biography
Jacob Riley is a traveler, writer, and multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the deep connection between journey, place, and sound. From 2012 to 2019, he cycled across Europe, the UK, Scandinavia, and Morocco, documenting his experiences through photography and reflective travel writing. His creative path has since evolved into a fusion of image, word, and sound, capturing the textures and atmospheres of the world through field recordings and natural soundscapes.
Riley’s ongoing project, Nomadic Soundscapes, blends ambient sounds, nature recordings, and environmental storytelling, offering immersive listening experiences that transport audiences to remote landscapes, quiet villages, and untamed wilderness. His artistic philosophy centers on presence, observation, and the poetic rhythm of everyday life encountered on the road.
In addition to his sound work, Riley is the author of travel reflections and visual journals that trace inner and outer journeys — from the solitude of mountain trails to the hum of distant cities. His art invites readers and listeners alike to slow down, listen deeply, and rediscover the world through the senses.
