Mark E. Biddle
With degrees from Samford University, the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Rueschlikon Baptist Theological Seminary, and the University of Zurich (DrTheol), Biddle has taught at Carson Newman University and the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond, and adjunctively for SBTS, the Polish Baptist Theological Seminary, and Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond. He is the founding dean of Sophia Theological Seminary in Dinwiddie, Virginia.
Academically, Biddle has published widely and also serves on several editorial boards. Recently, after more than thirty-five years of writing serious academic works, Biddle joined with his friend of more than fifty years, James D. Nogalski to write a work of fiction. It’s a detective novel, but as Biddle and Nogalski say in the acknowledgements, it’s “also dedicated to everyone who has ever suffered from the ambition and bigotry of others, often in the name of religion.” In addition to the twists and turns expected of a detective story, it deals with bigger themes of ambition, bigotry, sexuality, religious hypocrisy, and bureaucratic conflicts.
