Sandra Coan

Sandra Coan is an award-winning photographer, best-selling author, and internationally recognized educator known for her clean, timeless approach to maternity, newborn, and family portraiture.

Since opening her portrait studio in the Greenwood neighborhood of Seattle in 2006, Sandra has been photographing newborns and families while also teaching photographers around the world to do the same.

A former kindergarten teacher turned self-taught artist, Sandra is the founder of The Sandra Coan Method and the Sandra Coan Certification Program, empowering photographers to master lighting, posing, and modern marketing. She is also the creator of The Missing Link, the industry's go-to lighting course for natural-looking flash and strobes.

Sandra is a Westcott Top Pro and collaborates with brands including Kodak, Westcott Lighting, B&H, and Miller's Photo Lab.

She has taught on platforms such as CreativeLive, KelbyOne, and Click Photo School and is a frequent speaker at WPPI and Imaging USA. Her work has been featured in numerous publications and is part of the Seattle Museum of History and Industry's permanent collection.
