Author Scott Jennings is a civil contractor with 35+ years of experience, now a sought-after consultant and expert witness on major infrastructure projects. He’s passionate about helping the next generation of builders avoid costly mistakes.

His career as a heavy/civil construction professional has spanned North America to Hawaii to New Zealand. Committed to raising the bar across his industry, Scott is a registered Professional Civil Engineer with a Master’s degree in civil engineering, and is currently completing coursework toward his Doctorate.

After exiting his solely owned construction / engineering businesses in 2016, Scott founded a professional services firm pursuing consultative opportunities in construction claims, estimating, construction management, litigation support, surety, and private equity firm assistance in the construction industry.

An active educator and communicator, Scott has written and recorded more than 300 publications and podcasts on construction law, project controls, estimating, and sound business practices. He is widely recognized for making complex construction issues clear and understandable, and best construction business practices pragmatic and actionable.

His latest product in this effort is the Build America Construction Success Field Guide Series of compact, pocket-size texts, stuffed with real-life, “been there, done that” how-to advice for professional contractors, project managers, engineers and project owners who are serious about building and maintaining sustainable businesses in a world of rapidly evolving economies and technological change.

Aside from his Build America guides and books for working professionals, Scott also publishes the Learning to Build America series of children’s books, and a more-or-less weekly newsletter, blog and podcast on his Build America website.
