So, like you may have guessed...I'm a person that loves the water. Both fresh and salt. I have however spent many more days on and around the latter. New York's ' Great South Bay' is the saltwater I'm referring to. That's where you would find me on any given day while growing up there. You see, I was born not a mile from that bay's sandy shores and in a town called Bayport. I guess that's why people have told me over the years that I most likely have saltwater running through my veins. Yea- if I wasn't hanging out along the shores of that bay, you'd most likely find me standing up upon its waves on my Garvey, while pulling and tugging away on a clam rake. My life on the water had placed me smack dap in the middle of the shellfish game. And it couldn't have been more challenging. But hell, I was willing to face its demands with open eyes and arms. For me there was nothing more challenging than what often faced a baymen each day. But my life on the water was also attached to that undertaking in other ways. Heck. after all, I had to deal with quite an array of people in my chosen way of life, both on the water and alongside its shores. No doubt about it, the people as crazy, boisterous and dangerous as many of them were, wasn't about to keep me away from the life I so loved... So why don't you get onboard with this story of mine. After all I have written four books about my days out here on the water and I know there's always room for one more on my boat!!!
