Michael David Ward

Michael David Ward, a published fine-artist, graphic designer, and writer, has created art for Star Trek, Star Wars, and Lost in Space for Paramount Studios, Lucasfilm, and New Line Cinema. His art and character designs have been licensed for products including collector plates, greeting cards, checks, calendars, posters, puzzles, and apparel, and featured in magazines like Heavy Metal, as well as book and magazine covers.

Ward's paintings and limited-edition prints are collected worldwide, displayed in galleries across the United States, Europe, and Japan, and owned or endorsed by figures such as Gene Roddenberry, George Lucas, Jeff Bezos, William Shatner, Nichelle Nichols, and Jonathan Frakes. He was a featured artist in Marine Art Expos affiliated with the Cousteau Society in Monterey, California, and Maui, Hawaii. His images have appeared on TV shows like Third Rock from the Sun, the Star Trek 25th Anniversary Special, and the documentary Trekkies, and at Disneyland’s Star Tours attraction.

His characters were optioned for development by 20th Century Fox and MGM Animation, and he has worked as a designer in pre- and post- production for independent films. Currently, Ward is writing the sequel to THE STICK.
