Clare Taheri is an author and illustrator living in Melbourne, with grand plans to move her entire family to Paris.
Her books focus on children's experience of powerful feelings, and the development of skills in emotional regulation.
Her first book in the Cassandra Naseri series, focusses on the development of emotional regulation and self-belief. Upcoming titles in the series, focus on the experience of anger and of anxiety.
Sometimes a feeling can be scary, overwhelming or even threatening. It's Clare's belief that no child should be punished for feeling big. Like so many parents, she is helping her children learn skills in emotional regulation, while simultaneously retrofitting her own skills. Not the easiest job when your face is an open book (just check out her wedding video).
Clare has degrees in law, arts and psychology. She has previously worked as a lawyer in international law with the Australian foreign service, and been posted as a diplomat to Canada, with her husband and their husky, Thistle.
Clare idolises successful women, particularly her pilates instructors. She loves the idea of being chic, but is most clearly identifiable as a mum.
