Justin Hardy

Dr Justin Hardy's first book was written in 1996, based on his debut feature film A Feast at Midnight, starring Christopher Lee and Robert Hardy. After 30 years in film and TV, as an award winning historical filmmaker, his second book is based on Hardy's PhD at UCL called A New Genre for Television, MUP, 2024 defining theory of historical drama-documentary work in UK Public Service Television. His third book, Children of The Wicker Man, published by The History Press, 2025, is co-authored by Dr Dominic Hardy and edited by Dr Chris Nunn. His fourth book, Filmmaker as Historian, is co-authored with Prof Laurence Brockliss of Oxford, published by Palgrave Macmillan in November 2025.
