About the Author
My name is Alexis Gómez González. I am a physician graduated from the School of Medical Sciences of Havana and from the University of Long Beach, California, with specialization and master’s training in Family Medicine and Psychiatry. Throughout more than 26 years of clinical, community, and teaching experience, I have worked in the fields of family medicine and psychiatry in communities across Cuba, Mexico, and the United States, focusing on humanizing medicine and bringing it closer to those who need it most.
I have dedicated my career to the comprehensive treatment of mental health disorders, with special emphasis on anxiety, depression, insomnia, addictions, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Trained in both medicine and psychiatry, I have combined clinical knowledge with a passion for teaching and accessible education.
I have created innovative graphic and educational materials, helping patients, families, and healthcare professionals understand the complexity of the human mind in a clear and empathetic way. I have also worked on developing an approach that integrates science, compassion, and visual language as therapeutic and educational tools.
Currently, I direct one clinic in Los Angeles and another in Mexico City, both focused on the humanistic and effective treatment of psychiatric conditions, especially in vulnerable populations. I have also participated in medical training projects, the creation of illustrated books, and community healthcare initiatives.
