Jeff Burt grew up in rural and small-town Wisconsin, with a boyhood dominated by fields and water, Lake Superior, Lake Mason, the Fox River and its tributaries, Long Lake, and the Mississippi. He and his wife have lived in Northern California for most of his adult life, sculpted by redwood and hardwood forests, fires, droughts, earthquakes, and the Monterey Bay, where his three children grew and were released into the wilds of other places.
He is the author of two poetry chapbooks and a collection, The Root Endures, from Sheila-Na-Gig.
