Wesley Pena

Wesley Pena was born in a small town in the countryside of Minas Gerais, Brazil. He began working at an early age, driven by the desire to earn money and help at home. Coming from a place where most people followed the traditional paths of working in mining or local government, Wesley chose a different route one that would take him far beyond the familiar and turn the world itself into his field of adventures and misadventures.

He graduated in Science and Technology from the Federal University of São João del-Rei and went on to build a career in the financial market of Brazil’s largest city, São Paulo. There, he discovered both his vocation and his courage to explore the world. A world that, in his own words, “opened up in a unique way the moment I realized knowledge could free me from the destiny that seemed prewritten back home.”

Today, he calls himself a pilgrim, backpacker, adventurer, and trailblazer. When he’s not wandering through the city searching for a sunlit square where he can watch people rushing through life as he once did he’s challenging himself to find his own place under the sun.
