Tina Toedt

Tina Toedt (Tate) is a retired elementary school teacher with over thirty-five years of experience. She holds a BS in elementary education from Western Illinois University and an MEd in early childhood education from National Louis University.

As a follower of Jesus, she has been called to serve at the other end of the generational spectrum, planning events and activities for her community group at Parkside Green Church. She also plans events for her neighborhood HOA, serving on the board as a trustee.

A lifelong learner, even in retirement, Tina embraces new hobbies and gifts, including becoming an author, speaker, podcaster, and colored pencil sketch artist. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing word games, travel, music, bocce ball, exercise, reading and sharing God’s Word. Her debut book, The Art of Retirement…Opening the Next Door, inspires readers to face retirement with intent and confidence, featuring discussion questions for individuals or groups.

Originally from Dolton, Illinois, Tina grew up in a welcoming Italian family where back-door guests were always welcome. She and her husband Chris of 44 years raised three children in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, where they also shared their gift of hospitality. They now reside in North Canton Ohio and spend winters in Bonita Springs, FL, with their dog, Daisy. Proud “Mimi” of four grandchildren, Tina shares her retirement journey on her website, Instagram, and Facebook. Her tagline is “retire…redecorate…repurpose…rejoice!”
