Maggie Egan is a writer and actress based in Los Angeles with roots in New York State. She is the co-writer, along with Jennifer Lynn O’Hara, of Cupid Fest, a sparkling romantic comedy about two middle-aged sisters who head to Ireland’s legendary matchmaking festival in search of reinvention, adventure, and maybe even love. The story was first developed as a screenplay, where it won Best Ensemble Screenplay at the Broad Humor Festival, earned an Honorable Mention at the American Film Market, and was an official selection of the Houston Comedy Film Festival. With its blend of sharp wit, heartfelt romance, and laugh-out-loud moments, Cupid Fest now makes its debut in novel form.
Maggie brings a wealth of storytelling experience to the page. An award-winning screenwriter and longtime member of SAG-AFTRA, she has appeared in more than 60 television shows and films, including Grey’s Anatomy and ABC's 9-1-1. Known for her memorable, eccentric, and often scene-stealing character roles, she infuses her writing with the same humor, emotional depth, and keen eye for human quirks that have defined her acting career.
Whether on stage, screen, or the written page, Maggie is drawn to female-driven stories that celebrate resilience, second chances, and the messy joy of being human.
She shares creative updates, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and plenty of humor on Instagram @maggieegancummings.
