Hi, my name is Philip Roche. I am the author of Say Goodbye, Misty Day. The qualities that brought me to this happy place, is a wealth of experience. I have been a social worker, and have worked with the most vulnerable young people. I followed the advice of one particular young person, who said that I should teach. So I became a teacher both in the UK and as an International Teacher across many countries. My first role was in Qatar, a very hot country, and for someone who loves winter, I embraced my time there.
Then I transferred to a school in Kiev, Ukraine and the cold of winter. It was the best of times and ... well you know the rest. It was in Azerbaijan that I was the most relaxed. I was the Deputy Principal with Maxine as the Principal, and what fun we had. A brilliant school with amazing students.
Then I came to Russia, where I am still. If you are not familiar with Russia and Moscow, it is a beautiful country and well worth visiting. I live in a Dacha in the forest of Moscow region.
I wrote the book Say Goodbye Misty Day, while recovering from an illness. I am very proud of it. The characters are real, the emotions are real, it is funny and hard to read at times, as it should be. My second novel is called A Touch of Style and is about a plot to assassinate the Queen of England on the day of her Coronation.
I find writing to be my joy, my sanctuary. My hope is that you will feel my ejoyment for creating when you read my book,
