Heather was born and raised along Bayou Segnette, just outside New Orleans. Growing up surrounded by the bayou’s winding waters and cypress trees gave her a deep love for nature and a respect for its unpredictable power. She has experienced many hurricanes—both real and metaphorical—which shaped her perspective on resilience and strength.
Heather lives in South Louisiana with her husband and children, who inspire her every day to create stories that celebrate courage, curiosity, and the wonder of the world around us. This is her debut children’s book, and she looks forward to sharing her other work in the years to come.
