Lynn Benjamin

Lynn Benjamin has been in love with words since childhood, carrying poems in her pocket long before she began publishing them. A lifelong reader of nursery rhymes and classic poets, she found in poetry a way to play with language, capture fleeting moments, and connect life’s many roles — daughter, mother, teacher, traveler.

Her Pocket Poems series grew out of the simple joy of jotting down small verses during everyday moments — walking in nature, listening to children laugh, or pausing to notice ordinary wonders. These tiny poems invite readers of all ages to slow down, look closely, and share a spark of delight.

Her first book, Magic in the Ordinary: Pocket Poems for Children and Those Who Love Them, offers whimsical poems paired with watercolor illustrations that celebrate curiosity, family, and play. Her second, Magic in the Ordinary: Pocket Poems of Love and Loss, gathers poems for a wider audience — short, lyrical reflections filled with wit, wonder, and wisdom for dreamers of all ages.

Lynn lives surrounded by nature and words, still carrying pen and paper in her pocket, ready to capture the next small miracle.
