Marcus H. Martins holds a bachelor’s degree in business management, a master’s degree in organizational behavior and strategy, and a doctorate in sociology.
A native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Professor Martins taught for three decades in Utah, Idaho and Hawaii. He spoke in professional conferences and events throughout the U.S., Brazil, China, England, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Marshall Islands, Portugal, Qatar, and Singapore. He also participated in television and radio programs in the United States and Brazil, in addition to giving interviews and contributing to articles in American newspapers and magazines.
He wrote the book “Setting the Record Straight: Blacks and the Mormon Priesthood” (Millennial Press, 2007) which addressed aspects of the racial issue in the doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
