Mikayla Dawn Hardin

Mikayla Hardin is an author and storyteller from Corinth, Mississippi, a town known for its deep Civil War history. Growing up surrounded by monuments and stories of the past, she developed a fascination with history and a lifelong desire to imagine the lives of those who came before. Her earliest memories of writing trace back to church, when she “wrote” books before she even knew her letters, inspired by Bible stories, dedicated Sunday school teachers, and the movies that shaped her imagination—from *The Little Mermaid* to *Elizabeth* with Cate Blanchett.

By second grade, Mikayla was already hooked on storytelling, and from then on, writing became a constant companion. If every journal she filled had been kept, she jokes, there wouldn’t be enough room in her house to hold them all. Though she has explored multiple genres, including fantasy and poetry, her published works focus on historical fiction. She writes to give voice to the untold, to dream beyond what was recorded, and to offer readers a sense of hope through the lives of her characters.

When she isn’t writing, Mikayla can be found reading, researching, acting, singing, filming videos, or bringing stories to life in one form or another. For her, storytelling isn’t just a craft—it’s a way of seeing the world, a bridge between past and present, and a gift she is passionate about sharing.
