He is the creator of the Dunning Cycle—contemporary Jamesian ghost stories grounded in real archives and artifacts. The series begins with Securis Movetur: A Tale for Long Evenings, continues with The Channel Light and The Lighthouse and the Phantasmograph, with a Chicago-set Book Four in progress. Knight’s recurring narrator, Alistair Dunning—a retired university lecturer turned independent researcher and podcast host—pursues anomalies where ledgers, lenses, and keys refuse to behave. Raised in the American Midwest and now living in Florida, Knight writes toward the quiet edge of the known world.
