Dr. Benjamín Alicea-Lugo—"Dr. A"—is an educator, scholar, pastor, and character coach dedicated to helping people grow into who they were meant to be.
Dr. A holds a B.S. in Business from New York University (1974), multiple master's degrees, and a Ph.D. in Church History from Union Theological Seminary (1988). His academic leadership includes serving as Dean & CEO at Bethel Seminary of the East and Dean of ETEP at New Brunswick Theological Seminary. He also served as Hispanic Director of the Fund for Theological Education.
Since 1986, Dr. A has been the Senior Pastor of an inner-city congregation in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. He founded Seekers Christian Fellowships, an enduring ministry impacting students across New York City and Africa.
Since 2002, he has taught Spanish at a New Jersey public high school, bridging seminary boardrooms and public school classrooms with pastoral care and theological scholarship.
With over four decades spanning education, ministry, and academic administration, Dr. A offers a faith-integrated approach to character development—helping professionals lead with integrity, resilience, and purpose.
