Curtis Elliott

I have been published in over 400 newspapers, as a freelance writer. I've reported on high school sports events, city council meetings, and topical events that interested local residents, in small towns. Writing for the Dallas Morning News, the Contra Costa Times, the Arizona Daily Star, the Northwest Explorer, the Austin American-Statesman, the Vail Sun, and many others. I've created hundreds of original Facebook Postings, that are generally inspirational and funny. Not a political writer, but I'm very good at seeing both sides of an issue, as I write with much objectivity. I live my life in an outside-the-box way. I can see lots of things that others don't notice. My writings are very atypical because I try to be as real, fair and peripherally aware. In "Needle in a Haystack," I tried to convey in real time, in chronological order, what a widower goes through with his ups and downs emotionally. Hopefully, readers will learn how an outside-the-box approach can energize a person and inspire. Looking at nature, and the simple things in life. Seeking to use distraction, imagination and deflection can help to focus on one's current reality, instead of what he just lost.
