Jim Hodges

Jim Hodges was born in 1965 and has lived a life defined by adventure, service, and creativity. In 1982, he joined the Royal Australian Navy, proudly serving his country for 24 years before retiring. His passion for helping others led him into teaching in 2006—a role he continues to embrace to this day.

A devoted husband of 33 years, father of two, and grandfather of two, Jim values family above all else. He has lived in four different countries, traveled to over 50, and loves exploring the world alongside his wife, weaving those journeys into both his writing and music.

Outside of teaching and writing, Jim enjoys riding motorcycles, tending to his family’s five-acre homestead, and immersing himself in technology. A strong enthusiast for artificial intelligence, he actively explores how AI can transform creativity and storytelling. His love for imagination shines through his children’s books, crafted to inspire curiosity and joy in young readers.

Jim also produces original music under the name Symbowic, blending digital innovation with personal expression. Whether through books or music, he strives to share experiences, ideas, and creativity with audiences everywhere.
