Greg Miller

Greg Miller (b. 1967, Nashville, Tennessee) is an American fine art photographer and Guggenheim Fellow whose work combines the serendipity of chance encounters with the deliberate process of the 8×10 view camera. Over the past two decades, he has produced acclaimed bodies of work including Morning Bus, Unto Dust, County Fair and Nashville. His photographs explore vulnerability, individuality, and the shared humanity beneath everyday life.

Miller’s work has been exhibited in solo shows in Los Angeles, Barcelona, and the Cheekwood Museum of Art in Nashville, as well as in group exhibitions at leading New York galleries such as Yossi Milo, James Danziger, and Sasha Wolf. His photographs are held in the permanent collections of the Museum of the City of New York, the George Eastman Museum, and the Cleveland Museum of Art.

His photography has appeared widely in The New Yorker, TIME, NPR and Esquire. In 2018, he published Unto Dust, a 20-year meditation on the Catholic rites of Ash Wednesday. His next monograph, Morning Bus (Fall 2025), documents Connecticut children waiting for the school bus—a universal rite of passage that speaks to childhood, family, and our collective responsibility to protect safe spaces for the next generation.
