Emma Graham

Emma is an illustrator and writer living in Suffolk. She is a qualified graphic designer and horticulturalist too.

Emma’s work is hand drawn in acrylic inks, collage and a bit of digital too and has been described as whimsical, and the new day Beatrix Potter. She finds inspiration for her stories and illustrations in the natural world, local countryside and coast, myths and legends. She is a story teller both in words and pictures and enjoys sharing those stories with children and parents .

Emma has, at last count 15 picture book stories and 2 YA novels written.

Emma has illustrated for 4 other books, mainly in the US, plus with Suffolk Mind in developing a book written by them that encourages mindful movement.

Her story ‘The Owl who wanted to sing’ was a finalist in the Stratford Literary Festival’s Stratford-Salariya Prize for picture books 2017. Again this story along with another of her own ‘Tyranno-ROAR-us REX’ were longlisted in the Searchlight Picture book Awards in 2023. Both these and another have been acquired by Tiny Tree books, ‘Owl’ was published October 2025 and ‘Rex’ is due for publication July 2026.

In 2024 her story ‘Good night, sleep tight’ was longlisted for the Clavis Key Colours international picture book competition and ‘Flowery Towers’ has been longlisted for D’Pictus 2026., both are looking for a publisher.
