Ryn MacDonald

Ryn MacDonald is an Australian children’s author and creative director with 20 years experience in storytelling and brand creation. She writes picture books that help children feel safe, seen, and supported through the challenges of divorce and separation.

Her Lucy the Little Lion series was inspired by her daughter’s quiet but powerful questions about family change. Blending lived experience with child psychology principles, Ryn’s stories are written with honesty and warmth, reminding children they are never to blame while offering comfort and guidance to the adults who care for them.

Ryn is committed to expanding her Lucy the Little Lion series so families everywhere can access resources that make difficult conversations easier. Her mission is to spark reassurance, resilience, and hope in every child who reads her books.

When she isn’t writing, Ryn works with leading food brands as a creative director, or can be found dancing with her daughter, walking by the Brisbane River, or dreaming up her next story.
