I study China’s economic footprint in Latin America and what it does to politics there. I am an Associate Professor at the Institute of Political Science of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where I direct the Center of Asian Studies. I also direct ICLAC, a Millennium Nucleus funded by Chile’s National Agency for Research and Development, which studies the impacts of China across Latin America and the Caribbean.
