Maureen writes for leaders in education. She is a qualified Executive Coach who works exclusively with headteachers/principals. She specialises in emotionally intelligent leadership within a school community.

Pre-dating Substack, Maureen created a membership site where school leaders could access posts and find solutions to their challenges. This book is based on that website with a strong focus on differences between people, and coaching questions for personal development.

The most common reasons people leave the teaching profession are workload and wellbeing. Maureen offers 'what leaders really need to know' to keep well, work less and enjoy what they do.

In her words - I am not an academic. I am not a researcher. I have never been a headteacher. My style is conversational. My work is informed mainly, but not entirely, by white, south of England, mainstream primary headteacher experiences, so inevitably this influences my perspective. I have written People Solutions for School Leaders with the firm belief that as a school leader, you will relate to the human emotions and relational dynamics presented here and be able to adapt and apply them within your demographic.
