Jamie Sofia Okh, JD is an author, storyteller, and founder of Stories By Jamie, a creative brand inspiring hearts and igniting minds—one story at a time. A published poet since age twelve and a lifelong writer, Jamie’s gift for storytelling began early. In second grade, she won a young writers’ contest for a story about her cat, Socks—a tale that explored love, loss, and resilience with remarkable emotional depth. By middle school, her poem about a Jewish girl’s experience during the Holocaust was selected for publication in The National Library of Poetry’s anthology A View from Afar (1997), earning national recognition for its empathy and power.
Jamie’s passion for words continued to grow through years of study, reading, and professional writing. After graduating from the University of San Francisco, she earned her law degree from UC Davis School of Law and spent over a decade as a Federal Investigator with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, writing and advocating for justice in housing and civil rights. Her legal training refined her precision and voice—skills she now channels into crafting vivid, meaningful stories that resonate across generations.
Through Stories By Jamie, she creates imaginative picture books, fantasy adventures, and thought-provoking works that celebrate courage, gratitude, and authenticity. Her debut picture book, The Fun & Furry Tales of Rex: Adoption Day!, is based on the true story of her rescue dog, Rex, and reminds readers of the beauty found in love and second chances.
Jamie believes storytelling is more than entertainment—it’s a calling. Her mission is to touch hearts, spark imagination, and inspire readers to become the best versions of themselves.
