Amy Skinner

Amy Skinner has been an avid writer since childhood, since filling her first padlocked horse-themed journal with poems and short stories. Fascinated by all the quirks and contradictions that make us human, she writes to wander into the cracks and shadows, always searching for the hidden beauty in people.

She lives under the watchful eye of her ten year old blue heeler, whose unblinking stare doubles both as a writing deadline and a lifestyle critique. She's also adored, judged and occasionally outmuscled, by her two children, Josie and Miles, who ask brilliant questions, run too fast, and remind her daily of her mortality. Her husband, Travis, patiently listens to every half-finished story line, and has learned that "I have an idea" is both a phrase of exciting potential and a financial warning.

Amy is the author of When Catching a Horse, Finding the Middle Road, and Stumbling With Grace - with plenty more waiting impatiently to be released from her notebooks.
