Josée Sigouin

I am French Canadian and was born in Montréal. I now live in Toronto/Tkaronto with my Chinese Canadian husband and our two sons. Watching South Korean films and television series together launched my quest to understand the culture in greater depth. I have learned the rudiments of the Korean language, visited the Land of the Morning Calm multiple times, and read extensively about Korea’s past and present.

My first novel, Our Fifth Season…where murder derails love…, was published in October 2025 by Blue Denim Press. It combines my Korean obsession with an undying admiration for Québecois musical group, Harmonium, band leader, Serge Fiori (1952-2025—sadly), and their iconic album, Si on avait besoin d’une cinquième saison, which inspired the book’s title and lodged in my protagonists’ hearts as deeply as it did in mine.

When not writing, I enjoy cycling, gardening, and welcoming birds to our tiny garden.
