Douglas L. Koopman is professor emeritus of political science at Calvin University and senior fellow in Calvin’s Paul B. Henry Institute for the Study of Christianity and Politics. His academic training and writing specialties are American political institutions, and religion and politics in America.
After working fifteen years in Washington, D.C. in the U.S. Congress, Dr. Koopman began his academic career of teaching, research, and service in 1995, interrupting it at times for additional practical assignments in politics, policy, and government at various levels and points in the American political system.
