Kala Thornsbury

Kala Thornsbury is a poet, writer, and photographer whose work captures the quiet moments of life, the resilience found in everyday experiences, and the beauty in unexpected places. She is the author of a few poetry collections on Amazon and a contributing writer in a collaborative anthology.

Kala also writes for a website called Appalachian Historian providing articles and photography, and curates Echoes of Appalachia, an Instagram project highlighting both abandoned and restored spaces in the region. Beyond Appalachia, her travels around the world inspire her creative work and fuel new ideas for writing and photography.

Currently, Kala serves as Registrar at Alice Lloyd College, where she also volunteers as Assistant Coach for the cheer team and Media Content Assistant for the esports team. She holds a B.A. in Accounting and Business Management from Alice Lloyd College and an MBA from the University of the Cumberlands.
