George W. D. Quinton

George Quinton, known to his friends as Wes, grew up in Cardston, Alberta, a prairie town founded by Latter-day Saint pioneers who fled persecution in the 1880s. Their endurance and faith became the backdrop of his childhood and the inspiration for his writing. A lawyer by training, with a J.D. and an LL.M. in International Law from Duke University, Wes has spent his career in real estate, agriculture, land management, and investment. Only now has he caught the writing bug. The transition from legal writing to historical novels has been both challenging and rewarding.

American Exiles: Saints in Shadows is his first novel. It began as a simple effort to document Cardston’s founding but soon expanded into a larger story of conviction, exile, and sacrifice. Drawing from original journals and letters, George set out to honor the courage of families whose choices shaped both nations and generations.

He lives in Utah with his wife, children and grandchildren, still rooted in the legacy of the land and the stories that endure.
