K. Allen Davis

Debuting his first independent work, K. Allen Davis, PhD (Teaching Professor, Indiana University) is a professional educator of over fifteen years, having taught courses across the curriculum—the Basic and Intermediate Spanish, Spanish Composition, Phonetics, Writing Pedagogy, and Instructional Second Language Pedagogy and is the Director of the Basic Language Program in Spanish at his institution. He is a Contributing Author to the Top Hat Text, Explorando, as well as other online compendia. He aids in the pedagogical training of students entering the graduate program and works in several initiatives that support faculty excellence in teaching, including how diversity, equity, and inclusion enhance the learning environment for everyone in the classroom.

Allen Davis received his BA in Spanish from Indiana University-Indianapolis and his MA and PhD in Hispanic Linguistics from The Pennsylvania State University. A classically trained singer, he sings professionally as a member of the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, connecting back to his doctoral research on the relationship between pronunciation and musical aptitude.
