I was born in Trinidad and Tobago, on the smaller of the two islands, but moved to Trinidad to attend school when I was seventeen years old. I remember it clearly because it was a week following the death of my father, who passed away at the early age of fifty-nine. I had made all my plans to travel and was unable to change them. Suffice it to say, it was a very sad and lonely time of my life. After my studies, I worked for a while before immigrating to Toronto, Canada.
When I arrived in Toronto, Canada, I started attending The Stone Church, where I have attended to this day. I studied Engineering Technology at Ryerson University (now TMU), and most of my working career was spent in engineering at Ontario’s largest power generation company.
When I had the opportunity to retire early, I was invited to join the pastoral staff at my church. This opened the door for me to attend Tyndale Seminary, where I pursued Biblical and Pastoral Studies, graduating with a Master of Divinity degree in 2010.
I held the position on staff as Discipleship & Care Pastor for seventeen years until my “retirement” in 2022. I am passionate about the care of people and thank the Lord always that He has given me the desire to encourage His children. I trust that this book will encourage you to trust God, regardless of what you may be going through, because He has promise never to leave or forsake you. He will give you hope and grant you the ability to overcome the challenges that life throws at you.
This book: “Beauty from Ashes" – The Promise of Redemption, is my third published work as an author. I am married to my lovely wife, Glenda, and we have two daughters, Karen and Cathy.
