Gail Pasternack

Gail Pasternack is a writer, storyteller, and ordained maggidah (Jewish storyteller and teacher). She tells re-envisioned folktales and writes contemporary stories. Gail was one of the authors of the anthology The Rooster Princess and Other Tales. Her writing has also appeared in magazines and other anthologies, and Publishers Weekly has praised her clever story adaptations. Since 2015, Gail has served on the Board of Directors of Willamette Writers, and she led the organization as its president for five years. Gail holds a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and a masters from Columbia University. A native New Yorker, she now lives with her husband and her dog, Leeta, in Portland, Oregon where she enjoys drinking cocktails, listening to live jazz, and dancing Argentine tango.
