I studied art at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, Washington where I received my BFA in things not illustrative. Life being the winding road that it is eventually led me down an artistic path influenced by old fairy tales and stories I've imagined wholly in my mind. These works are callbacks to classic illustration from an era long gone by and the fragments of these tales come from a place I call 'The Thousand Weed Marsh'. I like to think of them as scenes ripped from a larger, ongoing tale, like pictures cut from work and dusty children's books.
The Magical, Wonderful Bul Bul Bird is my first picture book, I am also currently working on bringing my Thousand Weed Marsh world to book form as well. My family and I call the Kentucky Bluegrass home where we live on some land with a dog, a cat and a few honeybees.
