Bart L Largent

Bart became interested in history as a young child. Growing up in the 1960s, Bart learned about history by watching television shows about the 1800’s. Also, growing up in Texas, he was surrounded by historic sites around the state.

As Bart grew into his late teens, he became more interested in the city where he was born. Fort Worth, Texas, is full of history from the 1800s through the 1960s. One such subject that Bart became interested in was that the infamous gangster, George “Machine-Gun” Kelly, who had connections in his hometown. Researching Kelly, in 2018, Bart published his first book on Kelly titled, George “Machine-Gun” Kelly, The True Story of His Life, Crimes, and Death. That research led to two other books in reference to the 1930s. Bart’s second book was The Golden Age of Bank Robbers, followed by his third book, Historic G-Men of the 1930s.

Bart loves to walk in the footsteps of historic figures. In researching his books of the 1930s, Bart walked where many gangsters and lawmen once stood. Also, Bart loves collecting 1930s gangster memorabilia. He loves collecting and reading older printed books about gangsters and outlaws of the 1800s.

Bart retired from the United States government in December 2019. After years of research, Bart decided to live between the United States and the Philippine Islands. In 2024, He purchased a house in Palo, Leyte, and loves the culture, food, and the landscape of the Philippines. After discovering how beautiful and awesome the Philippines is, Bart wanted to help others to discover the Philippines. Many people want to move to the Philippines and possibly retire there, but many don’t know how to do this. So, Bart decided to write his fourth book, Let’s Move To The Philippines.

Bart is looking forward to his fifth book that will be published in the next couple of months. This book is titled, John Harvey Bailey, The True Story of His Life, Crimes, and Death. Bailey was the most successful bank robber of the Depression Era.
