George grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. After completing his tour of duty with the Marines in 1967, he left behind both the military and the battlefields of Vietnam, where he endured the devastating loss of his best friend, Paul, during Operation Hastings. Returning home, George used the GI Bill to pursue his original plan of attending art school. He graduated from the Hussian School of Art in Philadelphia and began working for several architects, which eventually led to a successful career in the furniture industry. During this time, he met his first wife and embraced the joy of fatherhood with the birth of his daughter, Alexis.
Over the years, George cultivated a wide range of interests, including cars, sailing, scuba diving—earning his master diver certification—and piloting small planes.
Today, George lives in Montgomery County with his wife, Anita. He remains active in the local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and treasures time spent with his family and five grandchildren. In 2020, he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and received disability benefits from the VA as part of the Camp Lejeune toxic waste settlement, connected to his time stationed there between deployments.
