Doug Teschner

Doug founded Growing Leadership LLC and is a consultant and trainer with a depth of nonprofit, business, and state and federal government experience. He was elected for six terms as a State Representative, served as a NH Assistant Secretary of State, led USAID democracy projects in the Rwanda and Morocco parliaments, and was Peace Corps country director in Ukraine and several African nations. He led a community education effort that helped end the Ebola epidemic in Guinea and speaks fluent French, Moroccan Arabic, and some Russian.

A lifelong hiker, skier, and mountaineer, he has made numerous ascents in North America, Europe, and Africa and once played the lead role in saving the life of a severely injured man on Mt. Washington, NH. Doug volunteers with the Appalachian Mountain Club and is contributing editor of the Appalachia journal. He earned degrees from the University of Massachusetts (B.S. forestry and Ed.D. in administrative leadership) and the University of Vermont (M.S. botany).

Doug volunteers with Braver Angels, a national citizens movement that brings Americans together to bridge the partisan divide and strengthen our democratic republic. He serves as New England Regional Leader and facilitates Braver Politics, supporting a bi-partisan caucus in the NH House of Representatives.
