Tom Grippa

Tom Grippa was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He is a graduate of Brooklyn College, who started his career as a commercial banker in 1977. He spent forty-one years working in different organizations and capacities within the financial services industry. Tom served honorably in the New York Army National Guard from 1972 to 1978. He has been married to his wife, Tina, for forty-five years. They have a daughter, son, and three grandchildren. He and his wife Tina reside in Eastern Pennsylvania.

Tom published his first book, It All Started in Brooklyn, in July of 2025. It’s a memoir about growing up in Brooklyn in the fifties, sixties, and seventies. It was originally written for his grandchildren, but after sharing his transcript with friends and family he was encouraged to share his work with others.

This book will take you on a trip down Memory Lane, reliving classic kids’ games like stickball and hide-and-seek, and sharing an egg cream or a Nathan’s Famous hot dog on the streets of Brooklyn. It will bring you back to a simpler time and place which will evoke your fond childhood memories. Even without a Brooklyn connection, Tom’s journey will resonate with you.
