Kevin Reimer

Kevin Reimer spent 35 years in K–12 education, mostly trying to determine what genuinely helps principals lead effectively versus what merely sounds good on a strategic plan. As president and executive director of the British Columbia Principals' and Vice-Principals' Association, he developed provincial leadership growth and mentoring programs still in use today. In 2013, The Learning Partnership recognized him as one of Canada's Outstanding Principals.

A Year of Leading emerged from that work: the patterns he kept observing, the conversations that shifted how leaders showed up, and the hard-earned lessons that never made it into policy documents.

Kevin is now an ICF-certified executive coach and keynote speaker based on Vancouver Island. Through his practice, Illume Leadership, he works with school leaders who want to have better conversations, make clearer decisions, and stop white-knuckling their way through the job.
