Growing up on the south side of Chicago, my grandparents encouraged vocabulary and teachers inspired creativity. In sixth grade, we read about a boy who won the Pulitzer Prize for a story he wrote about a place he’d never seen. That aroused my innate passion for writing. After experiencing periods of domestic violence, I found life spinning out of control. Writing provided a form of therapy and allowed me to take back control. After publishing articles for a local newspaper, my interest in writing soared. I started this project as a movie script but converted it to a book. Still, Building Victoria contains cinematic content. I incorporated real-life experiences into this wildly fictional novel. My stories touch on important topics in the world today. As a mom and grandma, I hope to inspire healing and encourage others to live their greatest dreams! Stay tuned for my next novel, Kronos Island.
