Ralf Hilles

Ralf Hilles writes books that place hope and humanity at their very heart. His words do not arise from imagination alone, but from the experiences of a life shaped by both light and shadow.

In 2013, he lost his two-year-old daughter Amanda - a fate that profoundly changed his heart and taught him transform pain into strength. This loss continues to shape his writing today: stories that bring comfort, inspire courage, and remind us that even in the darkest times we can still find a way forward.

Alongside his work as an author, he dedicated many years to humanitarian service as a paramedic. He helped after the tsunami in Sri Lanka (2005), the earthquake in Haiti (2010), and in the devastated mountain regions of Nepal (2015). Together with international teams, he treated the injured, offered comfort, and brought hope in the midst of some of the greatest disasters of our time.

To this day, he continues to work in emergency medical service - close to the people whose hopes and struggles touch him daily. From these encounters, too, he draws inspiration for his books.

His works are the echo of all that he has seen and lived: honest, moving, and full of humanity. They invite readers to pause, to recognize what truly matters, and to rediscover the strength of life itself.
