Steve Parks

Steve Parks is a judge in a small town in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Since 2014, residents of that beautiful area have been officially known as Yoopers by Merriam-Webster's Dictionary--a result of Steve's humorous twelve-year letter-writing campaign that garnered national attention and interviews with The Wall Street Journal, The Huffington Post, and others, as well as special recognition by former Michigan Governor Rick Snyder.

Steve is known for his quick wit and dry sense of humor, and those qualities have served him well over a legal career spanning forty years. Prior to taking the bench in 2015, Steve served as the Delta County Prosecuting Attorney, and was co-founder of the Coalition Against Prescription Drug Abuse. He is the founder of the Delta County Drug and Sobriety Court, and the former president of the local chapter of Face Addiction Now. He has two adult children and lives with his wife and their cat on a small farm. When he is not in the woods or on the water, he is putzing in his barn while he listens to music from the sixties and seventies.
