John J. Ronan

John Ronan is a poet, playwright, and journalist. His poetry collections include The Idea of Light, Taking the Train of Singularity South from Midtown, and Marrowbone Lane, the latter highly recommended by the Boston Authors Club. His work has appeared in The Times Literary Supplement, Threepenny Review, Notre Dame Review, and more.

A former NEA and Ucross Fellow, and past Poet Laureate of Gloucester, MA, he founded the city’s “Poetry without Paper” contest. Also a playwright, his one-act The Early Bird Special was a finalist at the Tennessee Williams Festival.

As a journalist, his writing has appeared in The Washington Post, Dallas Morning News, and Boston Globe. He is Professor Emeritus at North Shore Community College.
